 Dear friends and colleagues,
On behalf of the organising committee and as the president for INTERASMA, it is my pleasure to invite you to attend the INTERASMA congress in Athens 3-6 November 2010.
You are warmly welcome to a multidisciplinary forum where the subject is the many faces of asthma. In this congress you will find colleagues to discuss with and maybe find some answers to the varied aspects of asthma with its comorbidities, the socioeconomic impact and the important environmental issues of indoor and outdoor environment, climate change and occupational settings.
Although we have the knowledge and tools to have an immense impact on the sufferings from asthma, asthma is still underdiagnosed, misdiagnosed and undertreated.
Health professionals with an interest in asthma and all the specialities that deal with asthma will find this congress awarding for new thoughts and energy to improve the care of asthma in all ages. This also applies to all communities including low, middle or high income countries. In all countries the basic challenges exist regarding prevention, diagnoses, treatments and organisation of care.
Asthma should be a model disease for national and community plans for delivery of chronic care because of the highly efficacious treatments available.
